Many of our customers ask us, “when is the best time for roof replacement?” While we would like to answer “before it starts leaking,” we know that answer isn’t satisfying.
In some parts of the U.S., roof replacement can happen almost any time of year. (Some of our AmeriPro customers in Tennessee enjoy an average high temperature of close to 50 degrees during the winter!) However, most of our service areas (Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin) are in coat-wearing climates.
If you see signs of an aging roof and know that your roof is living on borrowed time, call AmeriPro Roofing. We will advise you on when to replace a roof that makes the most sense for your situation.
The Best Time for Replacing a Roof
Are you wondering what season is the best for roof replacement? Here are some general guidelines.
When to Replace Roof: Spring
If you aren’t having any problems with your roof, spring is a great time to replace it. Typically, the roofing industry isn’t as busy in the spring, so our crews may be readily available.
One downside of waiting for spring for roof replacement is that the weather can be a bit unpredictable. Spring storms can cause some delays, and our roofing materials require a temperature of at least 45 degrees, which sometimes is a problem in the spring.
When to Replace a Roof: Summer
Late spring or early summer is a great time for roof replacement. The temperatures are typically ideal for the roofing materials in late May or early June.
However, if you wait too long to call AmeriPro Roofing, your job may be scheduled later in the summer, when the high heat and humidity can soften the asphalt shingles.
When to Replace Roof: Fall
Fall is also an ideal time for replacing a roof. The temperatures are moderate, and the shingles will have enough time to seal before harsh winter weather comes.
While fall is a great time to call AmeriPro, many other homeowners become frantic to roof the house before winter. Unfortunately, this may make scheduling your job difficult unless you plan ahead.
When to Replace a Roof: Winter
You shouldn’t be surprised to learn that winter is a lousy time to replace a roof. Besides the snow and ice, the low temperatures don’t work well with our roofing materials.
